The Lehigh Valley United Soccer
Program, founded by Luis Ramos and coached by Greg Ramos, has a
philosophy of developing high quality soccer players who love the game,
have respect for fellow players and have an appreciation for world class
performances. Winning attitudes are encouraged in an atmosphere of fair
play and hard work; all within the governing rules and the spirit of the
game.
A majority of the players from prior
Lehigh Valley United teams went onto starting positions for their
college teams. Their dedication and hard work over the years allowed
them to achieve success in tournaments and league play throughout the
Mid-Atlantic region.
Much of the Lehigh Valley United
success is due to the Coerver Method of training. Since 1994 Coerver
training has been an integral part of the training provided to all
Lehigh Valley United players. The training has elevated their skill
level while giving them a greater tactical awareness of the game. This
type of training enhances a player's confidence to excel with the ball
at their feet. This high level of confidence with the ball enables
players to recognize and act upon critical visual cues needed to
successfully resolve 1v1 and group tactical situations encountered in
match play. Lehigh Valley United graduates are complete soccer players;
able to play with confidence, in any position, on any team, in any
playing environment. Development of superior foot and ball handling
skills has been a primary focus, and recognition of the visual cues
needed to make consistent, independent tactical decisions has also been
stressed.
